I want to believe myself a capable and confident person with sufficient ability to cope with my job. However, occasionally I still heard encouragement from my supervisor suggesting me to be more confident. I admit sometimes I feel nervous especially while standing on the stage giving public reports.
Are you afraid of taking action even you are so eager to achieve something? Do you doubt yourself even people think you are actually capable? What we lack is confidence.
A few simple tips that I’m using to encourage myself might be helpful to you too. Try it out!!
1. Breathe low and deep
Breathe down to your stomach, not your throat. Put your hand on your belly and inhale deeply, exhale slowly. Practice it every day especially when you feel nervous.
2. Train yourself with strain
If you feel uneasy to speak in public, try to express your thoughts in a company meeting. It’s OK to feel nervous at the beginning, but you will get used to it. By doing something which makes you feel a little stressed will increase your confidence day by day.
3. Living in a well-cleaned room
The environment where you live affects many aspects. Clean up your room will make you feel much confident.
4. Limit accessing social media
You know what I mean. Just cut off using Facebook, Instagram, etc, or limit your time of accessing.
5. Behave in positive posture
Pretend to be true. Post yourself in a confident way will make you believe you are full of confidence.
Finally, the quote below may lower your stress by being able to live your own way:
I do my thing and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it’s beautiful. If not, it can’t be helped. —Frederick Salomon Perls—
